What it does

What Is Meta Ads Offline Conversion Tracking?

Meta Ads offline conversion tracking is the practice of sending real sales outcomes from your CRM or lead management tool back to Meta so its delivery algorithm can learn which ad clicks generate actual customers. The Meta Pixel alone only captures on-site actions like page views and form submissions — it cannot see what happens after the lead enters your sales pipeline. Since Meta discontinued the legacy Offline Conversions API on May 14, 2025, offline events are uploaded through the Conversions API (CAPI), either as manual uploads in Events Manager or automatically from your CRM.

Each offline event can carry a value and currency plus hashed identifiers — email, phone, fbclid — that determine its Event Match Quality. Meta accepts offline events up to 62 days after the conversion, though uploading within 48 hours gives the best match rates. Without this feedback loop, Meta optimizes on volume alone, spending budget on clicks that generate form fills but rarely become paying customers.

How to

How to track the value of offline conversions in Meta Ads Manager

Include a value and currency on every offline event you send to Meta — via the Conversions API or a manual upload in Events Manager. Once events are matched, the value shows up in the Conversion Value and ROAS columns of Ads Manager.

  1. Step 1

    Prepare your event data

Each offline event needs an event name (like Purchase or QualifiedLead), an event time, a value, a currency, and at least one identifier: hashed email, hashed phone, or the fbclid captured with the original ad click.

  2. Step 2

Send events via the Conversions API

Upload events server-side through the Conversions API — the supported route since the legacy Offline Conversions API was discontinued in May 2025 — or upload manually to your offline data source in Events Manager.

  3. Step 3

    Stay inside the upload window

Meta accepts offline events up to 62 days after the conversion. Upload within 48 hours where possible: fresher events match better and steer delivery sooner.

  4. Step 4

    Check Event Match Quality

Open your data source in Events Manager and review the Event Match Quality score. More hashed identifiers per event mean a higher match rate — and more attributed value.

  5. Step 5

Read the value in Ads Manager

Add the Conversion Value and ROAS columns to your campaign view. Matched offline events now report per campaign, ad set, and ad. LeadTrackr automates this whole loop from your CRM.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Meta discontinued the legacy Offline Conversions API on May 14, 2025. Offline conversions are now sent through the Conversions API (CAPI), with the event’s action_source indicating where the conversion happened. If a guide or tool refers to the old Offline Conversions API endpoints, it is outdated — new integrations should be built on CAPI, which is exactly what LeadTrackr uses, including full event-match parameters like hashed email, phone, and click ID.
Add a value and a currency field to each offline event. You can send a static value per lead stage — for example €50 for a qualified lead and €500 for a closed deal — or a dynamic value pulled from the deal size in your CRM. Meta uses these values for value-based delivery optimization and for the Conversion Value and ROAS columns in Ads Manager. In LeadTrackr you configure values once per conversion label, and every event is sent with the right value automatically.
Yes — this is one of the strongest use cases. Map your pipeline stages (MQL, SQL, opportunity, closed-won) to offline conversion events and send each stage change to Meta with an appropriate value. Because Meta accepts offline events up to 62 days after the conversion, even longer B2B sales cycles fit inside the window. The delivery algorithm then learns which audiences produce pipeline revenue rather than just demo requests or ebook downloads.
Yes. Any system that can fire a webhook can deliver leads to the LeadTrackr REST API, which stores the attribution and pushes qualified conversions to Meta via the Conversions API. This covers funnel builders, custom backends, and tools without a native integration — if it can POST JSON, it can feed Facebook offline conversions.
Meta documents the Conversions API and offline events on developers.facebook.com (Marketing API → Conversions API), and Business Help Center explains viewing offline event results in Ads Manager. What the official docs do not cover is the CRM side: capturing the fbclid with each lead, storing it through the sales cycle, and triggering the upload when a deal closes. That end-to-end loop is exactly what LeadTrackr automates on top of the official API.
LeadTrackr sends multiple matching parameters with each event including hashed email, hashed phone number, fbclid, client IP address, and user agent. This combination typically results in an Event Match Quality score of 8 or higher out of 10, which is rated as "Great" by Meta. A higher match quality score means Meta can attribute more conversions accurately, which directly improves the performance of your Advantage+ campaigns and other automated ad products.
Yes. Once qualified conversion events flow into Meta via the Conversions API, you can build Custom Audiences and Lookalike Audiences based on leads that actually converted. This gives you a much higher-quality seed audience than using all form submitters. Because the seed is based on real buyers, the resulting Lookalike Audience will more closely match the demographics, interests, and behaviors of people who actually purchase from your business, significantly improving campaign performance.
Lead generation and conversion-optimized campaigns benefit the most from offline conversion data. When you select "Leads" or "Sales" as your campaign objective and configure the optimization event to your LeadTrackr offline event, Meta uses the offline signals to find people similar to your actual converters. Advantage+ Shopping campaigns and Advantage+ App campaigns can also benefit. The key requirement is a minimum of 50 offline conversion events per week for the algorithm to optimize effectively.
